Partie 4: How to decorate your display?

Choosing the right components, to suit your budget

15. Consider hiring or borrowing furniture, or using salvaged materials. This is a particularly good idea if you can’t afford to buy new items of decor every time you change your display.

16. Think outside the box and create displays using unusual materials. Sometimes a few cables and clips are all it takes...

17. All decorative objects, even second hand ones, must be immaculately clean and regularly dusted. Throw out those sun-bleached artificial flowers!

18. Plan future displays. Think ahead and choose decor items that can be reused several times, or even in every window. This will reduce waste and expenditure - a step towards a more sustainable economy.

What ratio of marchandise/decor in your window?

19. The ideal proportion is 2/3 merchandise to 1/3 decor. Furniture, decor and graphics are supposed to enhance the product, not drown it out.
